Ang buro, bow
This is the story behind my "Cheer up" post below. Merry Christmas everyone! =)
=======
Have you experienced riding in a smelly car on an out-of-town trip? And I mean smelly. Foul. Ghastly. You know that Pinoy delicacy, “buro”? Over the weekend, my balikbayan Uncle visited Pangasinan in our trusty old family car. Before returning to Manila, he received a big bottle of “burong isda” as a going-away present from my Lolo and placed it in the backseat. Well the “buro” juices leaked and the car reeked. And it seriously reeked on the day we were all dressed up for my cousin Macky’s wedding in Caleruega. All the way from Congressional Avenue, Quezon City to Nasugbu and back.
I don’t know how in the world we managed but we did. Hell, I could even get used to the exotic essence of “buro”. I suppose there’s nothing else to do but shrug, spray Glade in a frenzy, throw in some baby powder, laugh, and fervently pray for a sudden bout of serious colds. My last laugh about this whole episode was a text message from my brother who could not join us at the wedding. He borrowed the car for a quick trip to the grocery. “Anong nangyari sa kotse? Ba’t amoy tae?”
It has often been said that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I’d say there’s fragrance. Photos under the “Cheer up” post were some of the sweeter blessings amidst a smelly and rainy, yet nonetheless beautiful, day. Best wishes to Macky and Carrie!

heheh... looks like the car needs a trip to the detailers.:D i remember when you heaved a sigh of relief when you hopped on my car. to me, it had an ordinary car scent but to you, after going through an ordeal like that, it was like a breath of fresh air. burong isda deserves to be on the dining table and not on the upholstery. :D
oh, and best wishes too to macky and carrie!
btw, i've just tagged you! check out my blog! :D

hello... doing a lil blog-hopping, finally managed to visit yours! :D
g'leng ka pala kumuha ng photos, nag photography ka ba? seriously, ganda ng mga kulay kahit ordinary photos lang.
about the smell... di ba lalong bumaho nung nag-spray kayo? nasty smells tend to get nastier when you try to cover 'em up. hehe
buring isda ay mabaho pero sobrang sarap, nagugutom tuloy ako...
pero nakatikim ka na ba ng puro, kapag naluto bumabango at sumasarap, parang keso..
thanks cruise! super belated merry christmas and a happy new year to you too. ay oo, napakasarap ng buro kahit hindi sha ganun kabango =)... ey rena girl, thanks for dropping by!...hi bambs, thanks for the compliment =). i attended a 1-day photography class for beginners in 2004. sayang, hindi ko na nasundan. wala, i've just been fooling around with a point & shoot digicam. am dying to get a serious camera soon pero alang pera eh. yup it's true what you said about nasty smells. sana wag na maulit yon, harhar. =)
