Kitchen idols

Leafing through the cookbook made me so happy I went ahead and bought it. The pictures were so colorful and fun, the pages glossy, and the text easy to follow. I guess that would fall under impulse purchases, since I didn't need the cookbook. Another reason for the purchase is I like Jamie Oliver - he seems such a nice, jolly fellow. His thick accent always entertains me.

After almost 4 months since I bought the book, all I've done is drool over the yummy looking pictures and imagine I was in the kitchen expertly cooking 4 dishes at the same time. And of course ending up with something divine, or at least safe for humans, dogs, and cats to eat. Kelan kaya magkakatotoo? Maybe someday I'll start with something easy from Jamie's cookbook - pasta.

Also love to watch Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) and Nigella Lawson (Nigella Feasts). Take one look at their hips and you'll know how generous they are with cream, chocolate, cheese, and all that yummy stuff. Winner! I know I can't eat the sweets they prepare, but I still can look.

Naaliw akong panoorin sya when I first saw The Naked Chef. But after seeing him advocating and campaigning for a healthier diet for kids in School Dinners, he became my idol too. Marunong pa mag-drums... Jamie Rocks!

I watch "Jamie at Home" when I catch it on cable. Thursdays at 8PM yata yun, e mas madalas na gabing-gabi na kami pag umuwi. Dun ko nakuha yung inspiration ko para sa strawberry jam pero at 350 pesos a kilo ngayon sa Baguio (off-season!), it will have to wait.
